Style Inspiration

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about Paris street fashion and how C'est Si Bon (it's so good)! And I'm still haunted by a particular look I posted from Fab Sugar. It's something so effortless yet so chic and so pulled together. And, it's something we can all recreate! However, I personally need the right coat in order to re-create this particular look.

I have the rugged jeans, I can find a colorful top but I've been scouring the internet for something similar to the floral blue coat on the left and have been left empty handed. However, I've found some amazing alternatives. Check out the coats I think would work well when restyling this look for me!

The black and white coat from Anthropologie on the left is amazing! It's a timeless design. The leopard print on the right from Banana Republic is so fun! A wild print like this is perfect with distressed denim!

This floral leopard print from Ann Taylor is a little more reserved. Still a huge statement piece and so versatile.

Even though that aren't as bright in tone, they are perfect for the look I am trying to achieve. I also think these from own collection can work as well.

I'm also thinking of searching our local vintage store for inspiration!

What do you think of this look?

A Little Black Lace/ A Little Jackie O

Top: Joie via Piperlime; Tank: Target: Pants: Ann Taylor; Pumps: Ann Taylor;
Sunnies: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Rings: Gorjana via Gilt; Necklaces: Talbots/J.Crew

I have been waiting for the right time to make my first Joie purchase and finally took the plunge during the huge Piperlime summer sale. I stalked this black, lace top all summer. It's classic, feminine, a little sexy and there are so many ways to style it!

Styling Tip: You don't have to wait for evening to wear touches of lace, especially black. I paired it with my white suit which kept it understated. And, by adding layers of necklaces, it just added to it's femininity!

My mom told me this look reminded her of something Jackie O. would have worn, including the hair.  I will glady accept that compliment as Jackie is a true style icon!

A Bold Floral

Pantsuit: Liberty of London for Target; Shoes: Sole Society (c/o); Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff via Gilt;
Sunnies: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Bracelets: Silpada/Gorjana/Millsaps; Earrings: Silpada;
Lip Color: Mary Kay Mystic Plum (c/o Style Hunters)

I love a good pantsuit and this one is no exception! I haven't worn it in a while and I think it's because its so memorable. The large, bold print is truly unforgettable and a little hard to re-style. I've loved all the past looks so why mess with past successes, right? All I did this time was switch out the self-belt for a wide patent leather version. Super simple for a piece that's so bold!

I am loving this new lip color from Mary Kay! It's a great color that helps you transition to those darker colors for fall with ease. I'm all about transitional pieces right now!

An Easy Transition

Top: Anthropologie; Tank: Target; Jeans: LOFT; Wedges: Sole Society*;
Sunnies: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Necklace/Rings: Gorjana via Gilt;
Nail Color; OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress; Lip Color: Clinique Red Drama

Remember yesterday when I talked about sending a little tweet out in the universe asking Sole Society what black wedge they recommended when transitioning to fall? Well, what I didn't tell you was that I sent another tweet out in the universe asking if Sole Society ever worked with small bloggers like myself and they responded yes! We have teamed up to show you how I would style the Geri wedge they recommended!

I am so happy with this look! I took my favorite boyfriend jeans and cuffed them one extra roll to ensure the shoe was a focal point! To reign in the volume of this top, I added my studded belt and I love the draping effect it created. All of my accessories were kept to a minimum but I added a red lip for a little drama!

How awesome are these rings? Midi-rings are a new trend in jewelry and I've been searching for just the right one. When Gilt had an exclusive Gorjana  stacked ring set, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase them!

I can't wait to continue styling these awesome wedges! They truly are the perfect shoe to ease the transition to fall! Want to check out more of their styles? Click here and let the shopping begin!

Spotlight on Sole Society

If you follow Style My Way, then you know how much I love shoes! And when I say love, I'm not sure that love is a strong enough word. Shoes are my everything! Always have been. My mom loves to tell the story of when she took me to buy new shoes when I was about three. The salesman put me in navy blue shoes, and when he asked me to get down and walk, I wouldn't budge. She asked him if he had the same shoe in red, which he did, and once on my feet I was off and running! That's how passionate I am about the right shoes!

A couple of weeks ago, I sent a tweet out in the universe asking Sole Society what they would recommend as the best transition black wedge and they responded! They suggested the Geri and I have to say, it is perfect! It's a great leather sandal, with the perfect heel height, and will look great going into fall.

If you aren't familiar with Sole Society, they are an amazing online shoe retailer with crazy afforable shoes! And, not only are they afforable, they are heavy on style! I am a proud owner of four pairs! One has been photographed with three to come!

To kick off Monday, I am going to share with you some of my picks that are perfect for the transition into fall and my favorite boots for my favorite season....boot season!

I love a good ankle boot and these two are great! Wedges are an awesome alternative to heels but I adore a peeptoe version!

These tall versions would be sleek worn over skinny jeans and leggings or paired with tights and a great skirt or dress!

The midi heel is the "it" shoe for fall! Both of these offer constistant trends, animal print and studs. And, the Anneke on the right is a great play on the Valentino pump that I'm currently lusting over!

And who doesn't need a sexy pump in their collection? I love both of these for so many reasons, but mostly because they add just a little sizzle to your look!

Want more? I know you do! Check out Sole Society and let me know which one(s) are your favorite! And, check back later in this week for a little surprise!

Happy Monday!

Last Days...

Top: Ann Taylor; Pants: Ann Taylor; Pumps: Banana Republic;
 Sunnies: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Necklace: Banana Republic

The last time I wore this top, I was covered in toddler by the time we were ready to take photos! You know what that is right? Wrinkled from carrying him around, finger prints from snacks, tears followed by a runny nose....needless to say it wasn't pretty!

I love how slouchy yet pulled together this look is! The drapey top and full legged pant look streamlined not baggy and ill-fitting. And the colors are so crisp and sunny as we head into the last weeks of summer.
