Rounding Up Leather

I am a huge fan of leather and I love it real or faux! With fall literally around the corner, I'm rounding up my fav pieces that I would love to add to my wardrobe! And you will notice a slight trend....they're all skirts! I am on a huge skirt high these days.
Which ones are my favs, you ask? I adore the navy mini from Tinley Road (upper left), the designer behind my vegan leather tee, but the Zara faux leather pencil skirt (bottom middle) is so chic!

If you were shopping for leather, again real or faux, which of the skirts would you pick? I am still drooling over the navy mini!! And, Piperlime is having a Labor Day sale. Check it out over the weekend....

Twice as Nice

Top: LOFT (similar); Shorts: Ann Taylor (fun version);
Shoes: Kate Spade (cute version on sale); Bracelets: Kate Spade

Ever loved a look so much that you wore twice within the same week? That's what I did with this exact look. Wearing exactly this, I attended the Bloom launch at Tulip Boutique on the Plaza last week and McKinley's Back to School night last night. You gotta love an outfit that will take you from a cocktail party to a preschool classroom!

I don't wear these shorts very often because they are so memorable. When I say memorable, I mean I find them a challenge to style, so when you do see me wear them, you may remember them from the last time. What I like about this particular styling is that the uber feminine top keeps the shorts grounded. When I wore them before, the t-neck shell made them feel too heavy.

Styling Tip: When wearing shorter length shorts, keep your top on the modest side. Show only one body part at a time. And, try to wear heels when possible. They give the illusion of longer legs, especially a nude pair!

   Which styling version do you like better? The before or now?

Hope you're having a stylish week!

A Wardrobe Consult with Adrienne

 Last week I mentioned that I had another styling session/wardrobe consult and I had the best time! Adrienne was so much fun and up for anything! I love working with someone who just goes with the flow. And look at that smile! How can you not enjoy spending time with a woman that simply shines?

We talked a lot about what she felt most comfortable wearing, her wardrobe needs on a daily basis, and what pieces she struggled with styling the most. We styled five pieces and ended up with twelve looks! Her response to me meant so much and Adrienne, I hope you are loving all your new looks and the contents within your closet!!

I found this little denim dress as I was browsing through her closet and thought it would look great as a jacket. Turns out it only buttons half way down....wah, wah. Didn't work as a jacket, but totally worked in four different looks! Loving it for late summer and all during fall!

This little blazer caught my eye simply because of it's color. And, it totally fits the trend bill that The Zoe Report talked about earlier in the month. It's perfect for casual Friday when paired with dark jeans and a scarf and so chic when attending a business meeting.

Then you remove the blue blazer and it's a simple LBD! The striped blazer is another way of making the dress a little more casual when paired with chunky necklaces. And I had to add my signature denim jacket, because everything goes with a denim jacket!

Adrienne mentioned she needed something for an upcoming bridal shower. I'm not sure of the actual theme, but I do remember there was something about sparkle. And sparkle she did when we put her in this darling eyelet dress and layers of sparkly necklaces! Remove the black pumps, add gray tall boots, a denim jacket, and this is the perfect Plaza Art Fair look.

Here is a closer look at some of the accessories we added to her looks. I am a huge fan of doubling, or tripling, your necklaces to give you that chunky statement look. And a bold, red lip helps as well!

Adrienne, I had the best time with you! Thank you so much for allowing me in your home and just letting me play! Your smile is amazing, just like your personality, and I truly hope you are loving the looks we created! Send photos of when and where you wear them! I know my readers and I can't wait to see them!

Dinner Party Dress

Over the weekend, we attended a small dinner party with friends. It was a hot, hot, day and all I could think about was wearing something cool. This dress fit the bill perfectly. The fabric is a super thin cotton that  breathes so well and the cut has such incredible movement. I felt cool and comfy all evening.

I didn't do much differently as far as styling goes. I added a gold studded belt for accent, wedges to keep the look casual, and a statement necklace for color. Talk about a statement piece! If this little guy could talk, I'm pretty sure he would chirp your ear off....literally! Just take a closer look at him below!

I had another styling/wardrobe consult yesterday morning and had the best time! I played around in Adrienne's closet, helping her create multiple ensembles using only the contents in her closet! I plan on blogging about the whole experience later this week so stay tuned. I can't wait to share all the details, pieces we used, and all the different outfits that were created. Honestly, it was the best morning!!

Because I was going to be moving around a lot and be on my feet for a couple of hours, I wanted to be comfortable and chic. I also wanted to look pulled together and professional, yet stylish. These pants were the best choice!! Complete comfort and totally chic. And I love the Moto vest with it! I can't wait to style these pants come early fall!

Orientation, Stripes, and Summer Endings

Dress: Tommy Hilfiger (similar); Sandals: Tory Burch (similar); Handbag: Kooba (similar);
Shades: Prada; Necklaces: The Zoe Collective/Stella & Dot (1/2)

Last week we took McKinley to his preschool orientation. We thought it was a 45 minute meet and greet with the teacher, parents, and other children in his classroom. Boy were we wrong! Instead, it was a 45 minute introduction for just him! We dropped him off and had no idea what to do with our time! So to take my mind off of it, and to try and stop the tears, I suggested blog photos. Hey, a mama's gotta do what a mama's gotta do, right?

We picked up him a little later and he was so excited about his time spent at school! We were so thankful!

As a side note to this post, yesterday was the official first day and it was an emotional day and night. I'm hoping that orientation excitement will return in the coming weeks. Here's to Kleenox and wine!

Oh, and I'm loving this nautical print dress! A perfect look as the sun starts to set on a summer of fun looks!

I got the cutest little bracelet featured below and it is so me! Speaking of so me, I think this look is so me! A 60s shift dress, awesome heels, layers of jewels, and a large handbag. Yep, this is totally me!

How cute is that little bangle?? It reads "I Dare You" and that pretty much sums me up!
