Is It a Skirt?

T-Neck: Land's End; Dress: Vintage; Belt: J.Crew;
Boots: Halogen via Nordstrom; Necklace: Tori Spelling via HSN;
Watch: Emporio Armani (gift)

 Nope, it's a dress! Its my vintage dress I purchased last fall and I've been thinking of how to re-style it. I'm still not opposed to trying brown under it, but I loved the idea of styling it like a skirt. Actually, my mom thought it was a skirt and I shocked her by telling her it was the darling shift dress. Just another way of being creative with your wardrobe. You might remember when I tested this styling here. I'm going to continue searching my closet for other dresses I can style as skirts. I love a challenge!

This is how I originally styled it.

What an Honor

I am so excited to announce that Kmart has chosen me as their Follower of the Week! What an honor! On a whim, I entered their "What Are You Wearing" contest and won a $50 gift card, which I've already used! And from there, they asked if they could add me to their fashion blog! Of course I said YES! Want to know what more about it, check it out here!

Want to get the look, Kmart shows you how! Read on...

Thank you again, Kmart, for choosing me as your Follower of the Week!

Ten Pieces and Under $50!!

I've been asked to create a look for $50, and with the help of Polyvore, I've done just that! And, I love it!!! I want every single piece! And, all the items listed (expect for some of the alternates) are available online today.

The white blouse is something every single one of you should have hanging in your closet, but if you don't, H&M offers one and for only $13! The skirt is so on trend for the amazing colors we're seeing this spring/summer and an A-Line cut is flattering on everyone. Another H&M piece coming in at $20! I would tuck in the white blouse and add a cute, black belt to finish off the look. This skinny version is from Forever 21 and is only $3.80. Another staple for almost anything you want belted. And finally, roll up those sleeves and show of your arm party with these stacked black bangles JCPenney. Wear one or all, the set is yours for $12!

For those of you keep track, you got a button down, skirt, belt and set of seven black bangles for....drum roll please.....$48! Now, that's before tax, but still, three (10 if you count seven bangles) for under $50!
Under $50 Pop of Color

And, you will definitely wear all of these items with other pieces already in your closet. I even offered some alternatives at the bottom right. That denim button down will dress down the skirt along with the shiny silver bangles. Going to spend the day in the sun? Why not add a straw hat to keep the rays off your face and add a chic touch to the look. And, if you're feeling like you need a little bling, add this darling sequin belt from Buckle. And you thought you couldn't find a compete look for under $50!

Love These

T-Neck: Target: Scarf: Gift; Cords: Ann Taylor Loft:
Belt: Target; Booties: Sam Edelman; Sunglasses: Prada (gift);
Earrings: Silpada

I am in love with these cords! They are my go-to piece when I want to dress a little more casual for work. You know, when you want to wear jeans but it's not Friday! The fact that they're deep plum poses a problem when trying to pair tops. Black feels to heavy, seen here (not my favorite look), but I've already worn my denim shirt with them twice. So, I opted for a pale gray t-neck and at the last minute added this paisley scarf. I like that the purples aren't an exact match, but a compliment to one another. And who doesn't like a compliment!

Here's how I've paired them in the past!

Free Shoes!!!

Yesterday I entered a Twitter contest with ShoeMint and won!!! They asked all twitter followers to tweet on how they would style this shoe. Well, it just so happens that I ordered said shoe and just received it in the mail! So great for spring and summer and can't wait to start wearing them. I also think they will transition nicely into fall.

So, what would I wear with these shoes? Here's the ensemble I have created in my mind! I love the idea of skinny jeans with this wedge sandal! After reading Lucky's Pant Bonanza article, remember the skinny highlights the shoe! I am loving the idea of gingham! I've actually never owned anything gingham but that's about to change. I love this one from JCPenney in Mauve Glo! And you all know how I feel about my military jacket! I think it will help toughen up the pink and add a little warmth to that early spring chill!

THE military jacket as I've styled it in the past!

As for accessories, silver and gold would fit the bill. Wear them together or separate, all's fair in mixing metals these days! Pile up the bangles or add a fun statement necklace! Have fun with the look! Spring is a time of play!
