Wednesday Wants - Gray Over-the-Knee Boots

Ever since I saw Rachel Zoe in the look below, I haven't been able to stop thinking about over-the-knee (OTK) boots. And we're not talking just any OTK boot. We're talking about thigh high and I am obsessed! I've been searching for about a year for the perfect pair, but nothing has caught my eye....until now!

I've found the six perfect pairs of gray OTK boots that I think would work to pull off this look. I realize her's are more on the taupe side, but I'm thinking gray will go with more of the pieces in my closet. I'm hoping my look comes close. I mean, who can really emulate Rachel Zoe? No one! We've all tried but there's just no second best!
So here is the look I adore!

And here are my picks!

 1/2/3/4/5/6
Aren't they all simply amazing? I love them! I'm especially partial to pair number one from Steve Madden. I love the length and the cool tie in the back. So chic and a little on the tough side, no? Obsessed!
What do you think of my inspirational look from Rachel? A great transition look and could be worn for both fall and spring. This look is the epitome of why I think of her as my style guru. She's flawless!
What do you think of the boots? A style you would consider? Let me know your favs!

All Things Fall

Trench: H&M; Top: LOFT; Cords: LOFT; Boots: c/o Sole Society;
Scarf: Gift; Sunnies: Marc Jacobs; Ring: Silpada; Earrings: Silpada;
Lip Color: MAC Dark Side

There are so many things wrong with these pictures, but let's just focus on the outfit, okay! (This was a result of trying to get photos in, before meeting my mom and McKinley, and having less than five minutes to take them!) Remember back with I blogged about my Dream to Reality trench coat? Well, here it is! I love it! And, because the temps were the perfect fall crispness, I totally wore everything fall related!!

I am loving my new cords from LOFT! They are the perfect fit, the right amount of skinny and so comfortable. Dare I say they may replace skinny jeans this fall? They just might! They do come in navy..... And, remember my Dream to Reality post about over-the-boots? Well, here they are as well! I'm tellin' ya, all things fall went into this look! All I needed was a Pumpkin Spice Latte in my hand!

 Obviously, a good trench and tall boots are my go-to pieces for fall. What are yours?

Happy Hump Day!

L-U-V Madonna

That's right! My hubs and I attended the Madonna concert earlier this week and it was amazing! A music icon who has been reinventing herself and her music for over 30 years and we've followed her every step of the way. The only thing we didn't love about the show is that she only sang about five of her all time hits, but who cares! As I said all night, "it's Madonna"!!

I wasn't sure what to wear to such an an event. Do I go completely retro and stay relevant in fashion? Well, my decision was made for me when I came down with a fever! You see, I got a flu shot on Monday and by midnight that night I had a fever of 101 plus! Nothing like being sick the night before Madonna! I sucked it up though. I wasn't about to miss this concert! I grabbed skinnies, over-the-knee boots and a sweater coat I received last year for Christmas for a chic yet comfy look. Adding deep burgundy lips, we were out the door!

Sweater Coat: Ann Taylor; T-Neck: Target;
Jeans: Loft; Boots: Sam Edelman;
Necklace: Gift; Lipcolor: Dark Side MAC

The concert was a birthday gift from hubby!

Hanging with the girls pre-show! Madonna didn't go on until roughly 10:30 so we had plenty of time to grab a drink and chat!

What do you think of the overall look? Did I get it right? What would you have worn? And, if you attended, what did you wear?

Add Ons

Dress: Target: Scarf: Target;
Tights: We Love Colors; Boots: Seychelles (similar);
Sunnies: Prada (gift); Earrings: Banana Republic (old)
Bracelets: Jessica Simpson, Fossil, My Mom's;

Oh my gosh, where to start with this look! I really love how it all came together. It started out with just the dress and I continued to add on from there! You gotta love a piece that is somewhat a blank slate. I toyed with tight colors but ended up going with gray. I wasn't really sure what shoes would work best, my cowboy boots might take the dress down a costume route, so I went with over-the-knee. I tried adding a few pieces over the dress but they hit in the wrong place and threw off the whole look.

The scarf was the last piece to the puzzle! It seemed to fill a void that a chunky necklace couldn't. What a great, inexpensive, investment. Honestly, a scarf is another accessory you should add to your wardrobe. For continued use, you want to keep the design small and the color neutral. Also, try to get one that's fairly large. It will allow for more tying options.
