Dream to Reality - Altuzarra for Target

There is a new designer coming to Target for a limited time and his name is Joseph Altuzarra. And if you aren't familiar with this work, you need to be! He launched is line in New York in 2008, was awarded the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design in 2012 and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2011. In 2014, he was awarded the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.

Altuzarra is known for sexy designs, structured envelope skirts, and crisp blouses that are unbuttoned down to there. His spring collection for 2015 is amazing! High slit skirts, un-buttoned cardigans and low cut v-necks that leave little to the imagination, slim cut pants and skin tight sheaths that are just a few of his signature details. And for his Target collection, there is much of the same. The line will have roughly 50 pieces, and includes women's ready-to-wear, lingerie, accessories, and shoes priced between $17.99 to $89.99. The collection hits Target stores, Target.com and Net-A-Porter (which will make the collection available to international shoppers) on September 14. And as always, I've picked a few of my favs to share with all of you!

I love this LBD! And what I love most is the wrap neckline, signature high slit, and gold embroidered cranes on the shoulder. This definitely sets itself apart from all other LBD's hanging in your closet.

I love a good snake skin print and this button down is so luxe. I also love that it's a bow tie neckline. The black skirt is simply classic.

Who doesn't need a ruby red velvet blazer? That's right, we all do! I can't wait to get my hands on this piece. It will be amazing with dark skinny jeans and the over-the-knee boots seen below!

And while I'm talking about blazers, let's turn our attention to these great coats! Remember that Rachel Zoe coat I blogged about last year and found an equivalent at H&M? Well here's your chance to pick up another equivalent. And you know how I feel about faux fur! This little black number is so chic!

Back to the blazer and snake skin. The blouse wasn't bold enough? Go for this one!

Okay, the belt. This belt is everything! And what a waist it will create. A definite must have. And if you don't already own an over-the-knee boot, then you need to own this one. And yes, I do own a pair and will own these as well! So maj!

And lastly, this maxi. Is it a gown? Is it simply a maxi? I don't even think it deserves a label. What it deserves is space in my closet! The bold orchid print, the low V neckline, and the accordion pleats all make for a timeless dress. And I love that it's long sleeved. It makes it that much more sultry!

So what do you think of the collection? Is it one you will invest in? If so, what piece(s) are your favorites? I can't wait to share what I'm actually able to get my hands on! Stay tuned....

Dream to Reality - A New Designer Collaboration

Target is at it again! They have teamed up with designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, the duo behind Peter Pilotto, and I can honestly say I don't know much about them. From what I have read, they are heavy handed in florals and mixed prints, or what some call are calling a "kaleidospocic print heavy designer duo". I haven't seen too many of their pieces on the runway or on major blog sites, but I have seen the lookbook (via Lucky) for their Target collection. I have decided this is something I need to add to my closet! Mark your calendars and set your alarms because the collection goes on sale this Sunday February 9th!

These looks are not for the mild. They are bold in design and print. They are fashion forward and edgy. They are elegant and a little girly. They are right up my alley! Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from the 60+ piece collection that will debut on February 9th!

This dress is probably my favorite piece from the collection! I love the bold colors, the long sleeves, and flared skirt.

Want something a little less obvious? This one is perfect! And the black and red trend is hot for spring.

This is actually two pieces, but I love how it looks like one! Talk about versatility! Two pieces equals so many ways to wear them separately. And this style of skirt is the new "It" skirt according to The Zoe Report.

Another two piece option! I love the shorts. I actually more into shorts now than I've ever been. Yes, they're perfect for summer, a must-have really, but I love that you can wear them to work if styled correctly. Like this below! But that blazer is darling and can be worn over a simple black dress for a pop of color or with skinny jeans and heels!

We continue the two piece trend below. Again, a more subtle print but just as bold as those above with the use of strong color.

Another "It" skirt, another two piece look, and I love the use of mixed prints! Afraid to try the trend on your own? Try one that's already done for you.

Lastly, it's the "It" top of 2014. The crop-top. I'm terrified of the crop-top, but after reading alternate ways to style it in this month's Lucky, I'm ready to try the trend!

What's even better? They've teamed up with Net-A-Porter so the collection will also be available internationally. This is the first time a collaboration such as this has gone outside the Target footprint! A trend that I hope continues!

What pieces would you buy from the collection? I'm swooning over the dresses! Can't wait to shop!

Happy Friday Fashionistas!
XOXO

Phillip Lim + Target

I know every style blogger has blogged about this, and now it's my turn! Sunday the 15th is the big day! The Phillip Lim for Target collaboration will be in stores and I can't wait to shop! I am so excited for yet another amazing designer collab, especially Phillip Lim. I especially love his use of menswear for woman. I've been scouting out my favorite pieces and hope to score a couple of them. Check out my picks below!
This stylish take on the tuxedo is awesome! I love that it's navy, a little cropped at the ankle and has a black stripe down the leg. The suit is classic, but the pants can be worn in so many ways! Off hand I'm thinking of my faux leather tee, my moto jacket, a black cashmere t-neck, or my Just Cavalli blouse.
If you need/want a sleek moto jacket, check out this one! And, it's paired just how I would style it!

Need an LBD, this is a great investment! And, I love the tiny detail at the neck.

I am obsessed with anything faux or real leather this season and this dress is at the top of my list. I love the construction. So modern yet a piece that will be a part of your closet for seasons to come.

Yet another faux leather dress to add to your collection and mine!

I love Kelly green and navy together and this colorblock dress is so cute! Tights, tall boots and a chunky necklace finishes it off.

Again with the Kelly green and this blouse is the exact style I blogged about here. And I love the baby blue of these pants. Just not sure I would pair them together.....

Now, this is a sweatshirt I can get behind because it doesn't scream sweatshirt. And, I think it would be so cute paired with my faux leather shorts, skirt and jeans come fall! BOOM, instant wardrobe update!

What do you think of the collection? Want to see the whole lookbook? Check it out here. And, mark your calendars for Sunday! Can't wait to see what we all get!
