Crops of Paisley

Top: Ann Taylor; Pants: Ann Taylor; Shoes: Jimmy Choo; Necklace: Gift;
Bracelets: J.Crew/Ralph Lauren

This is not the look I was going for when getting dressed! I was looking for a particular skirt, but can't find it anywhere! How does this constantly happen? We don't have a large house and my closets are not massive walk-ins. How does a skirt go missing? I will find it and I will wear it. Just not quite sure when!I can't wait for you to see it.

Even though this isn't the look I was going for, I really do like how it turned out. I was afraid that these pants would be hard to re-style, and I must admit, they are a challenge. But, like any good style blogger, I accept that challenge!

 It started to pour down rain just as we started taking pics so we ducked into this little alleyway. I love the rock background and would love to play around with the texture in future photos!

Whimsy in Paisley

 Top: INC at Macy's; Tank: Target; Pants: Ann Taylor; Shoes: MARC by Marc Jacobs;
Sunnies: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Necklace: Tiffany

It turns out I love peplums! How many have I worn exactly? Okay, only two (1/2), but I own so many versions I haven't worn yet. I wore this top on Easter Sunday but we never captured blog photos. I paired it with a tank, skinny jeans and silver metallic flats. On that day, I wore it as a jacket instead of a top. I feared that zipping it made me look wider than I really am.

I still feel a little thick with it zipped but I liked how it worked with these pants. And how cool are these crops? I love how whimsical a paisly appears. Free flowing, swirly in design and a little dizzy at times. And the color combo is perfect for spring and summer!

When Life Hands You Lemons

When life hands me lemons, I go shopping! And when I go shopping, I seem to gravitate to my favorite relater, Ann Taylor. As of today, I am officially depressed over the weather. This time last week it was close to 60, I was at happy hour on the patio of Houlihan's and taking my son to the zoo on Friday because it was 80! Today, it is in the 20s, snow is heading our way tomorrow and supposedly hanging around until Monday. Seriously! The first day of spring has started off on the total wrong foot!

Because I'm officially depressed, I decided to start browsing Ann Taylor for some inspiration and some much needed retail therapy. What I wasn't expecting to find was the color yellow and how much I was going to love it! Whether it is in solids, or an amazing paisley print, I'm pretty sure my frown will turn upside with this cheery shade surrounding me! Check out some of my picks below.

The top on the right is currently hanging out in my shopping bag!

You know me and stripes! The top on the left is lovely and the color combo of yellow and gray is one of my favorites! And, I love the peplum top on the right. So on-trend!

These pants are also in my shopping bag!

I have no words for this lemon yellow jacket! Okay, maybe a few....darling, fresh and so spring!

I loved their perforated  bag from last season but never purchased it. I can see why! I was waiting for the yellow version to appear. So cute!

I honestly can't believe how my mood has been lifted by one pop of color. This version of yellow is sunny, warm and definitely a must needed color for my wardrobe!
