Birthday Fun

Jumpsuit: Loft (cute option); Jacket: My Mom's (similar); Sandals: Target (cute option);
Tote: Stella & Dot; Hat: Target; Necklaces: Jane Basch/Stella & Dot;
Earrings: Stella & Dot

Last Sunday was my husband's birthday, and to celebrate him, my son took him out for donuts! (Guess who paid....) From there, we went to Worlds of Fun for a little roller coaster action. And when I say roller coaster action, I mean a turn around Planet Snoopy and all the new rides they've added for the tykes! When my husband finished the day, he asked McKinley if he had had a good birthday. I think everyone had a little birthday fun.

My sweet aunt gave me this jumpsuit as an early Easter gift. (Remember when I blogged about my Wednesday Wants with this piece among them? Well, she did!) I love it! It's so light weight, incredibly comfortable, and the varying stripes give it such a fun vibe! And, did you know the back's out? I didn't either, but I love it. Adds a little built in air condition and will be the perfect swimsuit coverup!

There are so many other elements about this look that I love. I added my mom's vintage jean jacket for the cool morning. I'm loving my new sandals from Target. They remind me so much of this Bass pair my mom had in the 80s. And the Voyager tote is awesome! It's reversible and made of a wipeable fabric that allows for all the scuffs, spills, and splashes that come with summer!

Can you believe we are in May? We attended McKinley's last Pre-K music program yesterday and I admit a cried! I can't believe he is in the last month of Pre-K!! However, I'm looking forward to our summer together before he heads off to Kindergarten. Definitely a time to document every little detail!

Happy Monday, Fashionista's!

West Coast Girl

Sweatshirt: J.Crew Factory; T-Shirt (layered): Gap; Shorts: J.Crew Factory (various colors);
Sandals: Sam & Libby via Target (similar); Shades: ULTA (similar); Hat: Standard Style (similar);
Necklace: Jane Basch (similar)

Last week McKinley and I completed our third summer parent/tot swimming lesson and Joel took the day off to be a part of the final lesson. He took pictures during class and cheered McKinley on as he took to the big boy slide for a ride on Mama's lap. And, as a celebration for "passing" the class, we took a mid week family outing to the zoo. And, for the second day of July, it turned into a chilly afternoon! I was super excited to have a chance to wear this darling nautical top!

I picked this sweatshirt up a couple of weeks ago at J.Crew Factory when my mom and I took McKinley to lunch at The Legends. I love that it lists all the amazing beaches of the West Coast, some of which I've had the honor of visiting, and a couple I hope to reside near one day! I am big fan of nautical, remember this darling J.Crew Factory find, and I love pairing navy with green. Such a cool combo! And, you can't go wrong with an awesome Panama straw hat! A perfect accessory to any summer look!

I just can't tell you how happy this top makes me! I've always said that I'm an East Coast girl, and I am at heart, but the West Coast has been calling my name for the past year. And, if I can't be there in person, at least I can be there in spirit....or in fashion spirit!

A Rainy Sunday

Sweater: Missoni for Target; Tank: Ann Taylor; Jeans: LOFT; Boots: Hunter;
Necklace: Jane Basch; Shades: ULTA

Last Sunday was a stormy, rainy mess of a day, however we still had tons of things to do outside. And, even though it was rainy, it was a humid day to boot. It was the kind of day that called for a lightweight sweater and jeans. And speaking of boots, any chance I get to wear my Hunter's is fine by me.
