Weekend Fur

Fur: MNG by Mango via JCP; T-Neck: A.N.A via JCP (similar/various colors)
Jeans: LOFT (similar); Booties: Me Too; Scarf: Target (old); Sunnies: Tom Ford;
Nail Color: Essie Snake, Rattle & Roll (various colors)

This is the day it really all started....the crud set in and stayed for four days! I've been home sick for most of the week, today being my first day back in the office, and it feels pretty good. I'm in the land of the living! And because I've been in pajamas for most of the week, I've relied on outfits from last week, including this one.

I wore this Sunday to run errands. Remember that challenge of dressing up on the weekend? And capturing photos of those looks? Well, here is one of them! My mom got this jacket for me last week, I am obsessed with faux fur, and I love the different textures and colors that run through out. I opted for gray but cream and brown would look amazing as well. And, if I had known how much I would wear these boyfriend jeans, I'm pretty sure I would have purchased at least two more pairs! They are truly my go-to jean on the weekend!

Other ways I've worn faux fur.

Green and Possibly Envious

Where did the saying "green with envy" come from and why do you have to be green? However, if they are talking about this seasons "it" color, then I am envious of anyone who already has pieces in their closet! I've been poking around and I've found some incredible accessories that will play with others and add a sense of early spring to my wardrobe. Here are some of my favorites!

You know how much I love a good handbag. They are literally the one piece that houses everything I need on a daily basis! However, when I recently cleaned out my current bag, I found a few of McKinley's spoons, a boulder to his dump truck and several toys cars. I'm not sure I need those on a daily basis! And, it still weighs a good 20 pounds, but I digress... Take a look below at my picks.
These may or may not be able to hold everything I carry, but I'm will to give it a try! Kate Spade is one of my all time favorites and generally my go-to when shopping for a new bag. You can pick up these lovelies at Nordstrom.

The current trend is to carry a clutch during the day but that's just not going to happen here. Did I mention my current bag weighs at least 20 pounds? How could I possibly go to a clutch? For evening though, this Steven Madden would be so cute against a winter white look. I love the green and gold! And, I would love to take this Kate Spade wallet out of my handbag daily! So sweet, feminine and sleek.

 Oh how I love shoes and these little numbers don't disappoint! I love my stilettos and the higher the better. But there times, and pant lengths, that call for a more lady like heel. I'm pretty sure these kitten heels would do the trick. The Manolo Blahnik sling backs are such a great neutral. And the Kate Spade's would lighten up navy and look super sweet with pink. So spring!

My new favorite shoe source, Sole Society, offers these darling peep toe wedges. Yes, its considered a wedge and so cute with dresses, skirts and crops. And, these Kate Spade pumps are darling!! And the bow is the sweetest little detail! A definite must-have!

And then there are the little pieces for your wrist, hand and neck! Don't ever forget to add accessories wherever possible!!

These bracelets will help any arm party get started! Add several smaller gold bangles or wear them alone and let them speak for themselves. I am a huge fan of bracelets these days. The more the merrier! Both of these are from J.Crew.

 These are two simple stunners that are statements all on their own. This ring from Ann Taylor is a wow piece while the necklace from Baublebar is sleek and modern. Wear alone so they shine!

 Are you a fan of the new "it" color, and if so, how do you plan to wear it this spring? Can't wait til then? Start wearing it now. With so many options available, it might be nice to lighten up your winter wardrobe! I know I will!

Dressing Up A Puffer Vest

Vest: Land's End (gift); T-Neck: LOFT; Pants:  J.Crew (on sale);
Shoes: Tory Burch; Belt: J.Crew (old); Necklace: Kate Spade (gift)/Ann Taylor
 Bracelets: Ralph Lauren/Gift

How do you pair a puffer vest aside from jeans or winter sports? Well, if you are This Time Tomorrow, you pair it with a lacy, pencil skirt and heels. That's where I drew inspiration when dressing up my puffer vest for work. It rained all day the day I wore this, resulting in indoor photos, so I added my vest in lieu of a trench. Belting help keeps the volume at bay and it really works with emerald pants and t-neck! I added tons of gold jewelry to accent the studs in the belt. And, it kept me warm and dry!

Pink Lady

Sweater: Ann Taylor (gift); Top: J.Crew (gift); Pants: J.Crew; Shoes: Ann Taylor (similar)
Watch: Emporio Armani (similar); Bracelet: J.Crew (gift)

I was in desperate need of new pants and J.Crew just happened to be having a huge sale!! I had to partake, right? Pink wasn't really on the agenda. I was looking for the basics; black, cream, brown...but then these showed up on my screen!  I love how neutral they are. They really can be worn as easily as black. And how cute will they be on Valentine's Day! I think I just gave away my post idea...

The sweater is a great way to break up the pinks. Although they may be different hues, they play off of each other well. Don't be afraid to mix and match.

Weekend Wear...

Sweater: Design History via Gilt; T-Neck: Land's End (gift); Jeans: LOFT;
Boots: Halogen via Nordstrom; Necklace: Tiffany (gift); Sunnies: Tom Ford

 I am firm believer that just because it's the weekend, especially a Sunday, you don't have to look frumpy. I've really tried to challenge myself not to wear sweats of any form. Especially gym wear! Save that for...wait for it....the gym.

This is what I wore last Sunday to run errands. I don't usually get photos of my weekend attire, but I am going to try and make that a "resolution" for 2013! That will really keep my challenge going.

Stay stylish on the weekend. You don't have to go all out. Notice the very large sunglasses? They hide the fact that I'm wearing very minimal makeup! I am all about mascara, blush and lip-gloss on the weekends. A hint of color goes a long way. So do sunnies and hats for day old, or older, hair!

So, who's up for the challenge?? Happy Friday!!!

Hello Moto

Jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors (gift/similar); Dress: Land's End (gift); Tights: Hue;
Boots: Halogen via Nordstrom (similar); Necklaces: Tiffany (gift)/Silpada; Ring: Tiffany
 Sunnies: Tom Ford; Lip Color: Clinique Merlot

Did anyone read Sweet Valley High growing up? No? I'm sure I just showed my age by this pre-teen book series reference! This was way before Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars. Anyway, in Dangerous Love, sweet Elizabeth is forced to ride boyfriend Todd's motorcycle to keep the other girls at bay. What happens from there, well you will just have to read... And yes, I own the series!

  So how do you toughen up a sweet dress like this one? Add a motorcycle jacket of course! There is something so chic about a moto jacket yet I'm terrified of them in real life! Just like Elizabeth!

Add tights and tall boots and the look is complete! Now, if only Elizabeth had had a jacket like this one. She might not have been forced to ride Todd's bike and subsequently....just read the book!
