Wednesday Wants - Fourth of July Looks

Can you believe this weekend is the Fourth of July? Summer is simply flying by! We don't have huge plans, but that doesn't mean I don't want to look cute and festive. And when I think of festive looks, I'm not always looking for the obvious. Instead, I incorporate red, white, and blue into my look without screaming American flag!

Here are my six picks for some cute holiday looks!

And, as luck would have it, most of these pieces are currently on sale! Time to shop for the weekend!! I think I'm heading to Target today for the hankie inspired maxi dress!

Have big plans for the weekend? Let us know what you're up to!

Wednesday Wants: White Jeans

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of white jeans for about two years now. You would think white jeans would be a no brainer to find, but I am here to tell you, that's not the case. I don't want skinny, cropped, or capri. I want boyfriend with a little distress and a slight loose fit. So hard to find! And harder to find within in my price range. I've been stopping in every store, browsing the racks, and then walking back out. I can't find them!

Then, miraculously, I found these five options! None of them fit every single criteria on my list, but they check off at least two. Better than none, right? What do you think of these?

I think I am going to go with pair number one from Gap. And bonus, they're on sale! Can't beat that, right? Which ones would you purchase?

Hope you're week is fabulous so far!

Sunday Chic

Sweater: Loft (similar/40% off); T-Shirt: Old Navy (cute option); Jeans: Loft (similar/40% off);
Sneakers: Target (similar/on sale); Hat: Arden B (similar); Necklaces: The Zoe Report/Stella & Dot

Two weeks ago I had one of the busiest and dressiest weekends I've had in a long time. Thursday and Friday nights were full-on fashion with KCFW. Saturday night was date night with my hubby to see Maroon 5 so I wore something super cute for our evening together. By Sunday I was looking to just relax and wear something really low key! I literally grabbed the first things I saw in my dresser and the comfiest jeans I could find. Sneakers and a hat, because I didn't feel like washing my hair, finished off the look. I didn't even wear makeup! Sunnies are the best way to get around that! For photos, I threw on a little lip gloss. I call this Sunday Chic!

The Final Rose

Sweatshirt: Old Navy (similar here under $10); Tank: Target (similar here); Cords: Loft (similar here);
Sneakers: Target; Shades: Ulta

Last night was the finale of The Bachelor and I met up with my girlfriend for an evening of wine, chocolate, and rocking sweet baby girls to sleep. It was perfection! So what does one wear to the finale viewing? A Heart and Soul sweatshirt! Because you know they love each other heart and soul and that it's totally going to work! Spoiler Alert: I wish Chris and Whitney a lifetime of happiness!

I know I said I wasn't going to wear gray now that I'm all about spring, but I did wear pale pink cords and neutral sneakers! Oh, and pink lips and silver aviators! I am totally rocking spring if you look close. But again, when you're watching the final rose of the season, you have to go into it with all the love!

Firecracker....BOOM!

Top: Old Navy; Shorts: DIY (similar/similar); Sandals: Tory Burch (similar);
Hat: Standard Style (similar);Necklace: BaublesbyAndrea (coming soon to Etsy);
 Shades: ULTA (similar);
Lip Color: Ruby Opera L'Oreal Extraordinaire (c/o PeopleStyleWatch)

When I was a little girl, I owned an enormous pair of red pom-poms and would chant the following cheer "Firecracker, firecracker, boom, boom, boom!" So it's only appropriate that I chant that cheer while posting about my Fourth of July look.

I couldn't believe how gorgeous the weather was for our Fourth of July. We had temps in the mid 80s and the three of us spent the afternoon at Deanna Rose. It was a perfect day. And so was this outfit! Can you believe how perfect this fabric is for getting into the red, white, and blue spirit? My mom and I bought the fabric so long ago and it was literally laying on the floor of her sewing room. I immediately knew it had to become shorts! I found the top at Old Navy while shopping for a cute patriotic shirt for McKinley and I made the necklace the night before the fourth. Nothing like whipping up a look in less than 24 hours!

Another BaublesbyAndrea creation that will be coming to my Etsy shop soon. I'm loving the mix of fabric beads with other textures. I can't wait to keep playing with this concept!

Even though these shorts were my go-to Fourth piece, I know they are going to be booming with possibilities all summer long!

Happy Fourth of July

I hope you are having a festive Fourth of July! We don't have much planned, but I know we will enjoy every minute of our family time together! We don't have actual plans. We're just going to go with the flow of the day and do whatever everyone feels like doing! I love the holidays! Any holiday will do. The decorating, the baking, the parties, and the outfit planning! It's all so much fun. And even if it's just the three of us, I have plenty of things up my sleeve. Here are just a few things I'm loving!

Amazing nail art via Pinterest!

Super cute Espadrilles and striped maxi from Old Navy!

Yummy patriotic Popsicles via Pinterest.

My son's Fourth of July tree and pennant that I made for him!

 A darling print that's perfect for a pair of shorts! Let's hope I can get them made in time!

There's nothing like a little red, white, and blue to get this girl jazzed for a holiday weekend!

Happy Fourth of July!!

On the Hunt - Anything Camo!

A huge trend this season is camo! I've avoided the fabric for a while now, but after seeing several bloggers wearing various pieces at KCFW, and seeing Jessica Sturdy of Bows and Sequins wearing this darling top, I knew it was time to bite the fashion bullet! I am on a major hunt for camo.

I'm not sure if I want to invest in a top or pant. I love Jessica's top, my inspiration, but it's sold out. Also, I guess it kind of depends on the fabric itself; is too green, too black, too light, too dark? I may just go with what calls to me while browsing. So far, these are the pieces that have caught my eye. (My husband would say, how can you see it? It's camo.)

I am totally into the lounge trend for spring! Drawstring waists are just about the most comfortable thing you can wear, and with it being "on-trend", I am just fine with filling my closet full. These from Piperlime are a great casual piece, but I think you can dress them up with heels.

 The skirt or short from Old Navy would be cute for summer. Again, they are both casual pieces, but could totally be dressed up with heels or fun accessories. I'm loving the darker tone on the shorts though.

This top from Old Navy is definitely a contender! I love the muted tones and sheerness of the blouse. This is a piece that could be styled with almost anything.

As you know, I'm a huge fan of this cut of pant from J.Crew. So much so I own them in navy, olive, and gray! I love the mix of green and navy versus the browns posted above. I think there are more styling options available with these colors.

Lastly, this sweatshirt from J.Crew is on the list as well. However, it's getting a little late to start investing in sweatshirts, especially a trendy one. But the colors are great and I love how it's styled with white jeans for summer. Maybe a sweatshirt isn't a bad idea....

 What do you think of the camo trend? Something worth investing in or something to just pass off as a phase? I'm thinking one little piece won't hurt!

Happy Monday!
XOXO

Full -On Fashion

Sweatshirt: Old Navy (similar); Button Down: Ann Taylor; Skirt: ASOS; Heels: Jimmy Choo;
Necklace: Banana Republic; Bracelet: J.Crew (gift); Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff;
Shades: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Lip Color: MAC Ruby Woo

This is a combo I've been dying to wear since I first saw a similar look on Pinterest. And, I knew the right venue for something like this was the Saturday afternoon runway show at KCFW! I love everything about this look. The sweatshirt combined with a crisp button down. The sweatshirt/shirt combo paired with a lady-like skirt. A chunky necklace, ruby red lips, and simple black heels bring it all together. I was definitely ready for a full-on fashion Saturday!
