The Perfect Layers

 Vest: Land's End (similar); Sweatshirt: Etiquette Boutique (similar); Jeans: Loft (similar);
Booties: Sam Edelman; Belt: Banana Republic; Shades: Karen Walker via Gilt;
Necklace: Stella & Dot

Yesterday was a December afternoon that reached the low 50s! That doesn't happen very often and one must definitely take advantage of those warmer days! The boys spent the afternoon cleaning up the leaves in the yard while I got to do one of my favorite things. I got to go to the grocery store. (That comment is dripping with sarcasm. Did you hear it?) But, it was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the walk outside from the car to the door and vice versa when I left. It's the little things, right?

Because it was in the 50s, I opted for this cute sweatshirt paired with my puffer vest. The perfect combination of layers. I love belting the vest to help contain the bulk and went with my fav new booties! I got them for my birthday and have worn the constantly! They are the perfect heel height for days when you're running around and so comfortable! Who needs tennies when you have that same support in a darling bootie!

What did you guys do to yesterday to take advantage of the beautiful day? I hope whatever it was, it was fun!

A Golden Night

 Sweater: J.Crew; Top: Etiquette Boutique; Jeans: Loft; Flats: J.Crew; All Jewelry: Stella & Dot

It only seemed appropriate to wear gold sequins when going out for dinner with golden friends for what used to be an annual Friends Thanksgiving dinner. We skipped a year, and we realized that for some of us, it had been a year or longer since we had seen each other. That's completely unacceptable and I told my husband we were going to remedy that next year. My heart was so happy and my soul was full when I got home. My chosen family is a group of people I love!

I hope you have a wonderful and golden Thanksgiving weekend!!

Rock It

Jacket: BB Dakota via Shopbop; Top: Etiquette Boutique (similar); Jeans: Loft (similar);
Heels: Coclico (sinilar); Cross-Body: Rebecca Minkoff (other colors); Shades: MbyMJ;
Necklaces: The Zoe Report/Stella & Dot (1/2); Bracelet: J.Crew (similar);
Ring: Etiquette Boutique (similar here)

Last Saturday night my hubby and I had a date night with Maroon 5!! It was awesome! I missed them the last time they were in town and vowed I wouldn't allow that to happen again. I'm so glad I didn't! Adam and team rocked Sprint Arena for two solid hours and I rocked out right along with them. Would I see them again? To paraphrase Big, abso-fing-lutely!

 And for a great rock concert, you have to have a look that rocks. This one totally did! I picked up this BB Dakota jacket from the Shopbop sale a couple of weeks ago. It's still available and comes in four different colors. All of which are currently in stock!! Seriously, nab this one while you can!! Such a great layering piece. It's soft as butta, light weight, and so chic! I paired mine with a loose fitted tank and distressed boyfriend jeans. Low heeled sandals, gold layered necklaces, and a cross-body completed the look!

What is your favorite thing to wear to a concert? Are you a dress and heels girl or skinny jeans and cute top kind? I run the gamut when it comes to concert attire. But the one thing I refuse to wear is that bands t-shirt! Wear it a week later with whatever feels right. Just not that night. Deal?

Rock it out, Fashionista's!

Updated Sweats

 Sweatshirt: Etiquette Boutique (check their store/similar here);
Denim Top: J.Crew Factory; Sweatpants: JCPenney (similar here);
 Sneakers: Target (similar here); Shades: MbyMJ  (similar here)

Ever have one of those days were you aren't going to leave the house, except for maybe a quick grocery run, but you don't feel the need to throw on jeans?  That was me last week. I've been working hard to fill my freezer with ready made meals, I spent a week cooking, and I just couldn't bring myself to "dress up" to cook. So, I reached for my new floral sweatshirt, denim button down, and the coziest sweatpants (that aren't really sweatpants) that I recently purchased. This is definitely an updated version of sweats!

I am loving this floral sweatshirt from Etiquette Boutique! The prints is so subtle, such a great neutral, and so chic! And these sweatpants! I love that they feel like sweats, but are tapered to give you a more fitted pant than the sweats of our youth. I can definitely see them dressed up with my faux leather top or leather moto jacket. I can't wait to style them in dressier ways!

What do you think of my updated sweats look? Is this something you could see yourself wearing when you just aren't feeling the jeans? How you would style them differently? Please share!

Happy Monday, Fashionista's!
