I Like Very Much....

Sweater: Target (cute option); Button Down: Land's End (super cute); Jeans: Loft (similar);
Booties: Sam Edelman; Handbag: MbyMJ; Shades: Target; Jewelry: Stella & Dot;
Lip Color Revlon HD Obsession

When you look up the meaning of j'adore, you get some many definitions. But what I can come up with is this, I like very much. Well guess what? I like very much this sweater! It's simple, sweet, and perfect for this month of love!

I love pairing it with button downs, and this time around, I added my fav checked flannel shirt. I'm tellin' ya, Land's End should pay me for all the times I've worn it, including the times not photographed. I honestly wear it that often! Distressed boyfriends jeans, gray suede booties, and a pink bag complete this well liked look!

Happy Friday, Fashionista's! We've made it through another week. Next week is the week leading up to Valentine's Day and I might just have to go all lovey with my posts. Or, just go with what I love and express my adoration for my wardrobe in photos! We shall see what happens.

We have an extremely busy weekend ahead and I can't wait to share the details. I hope you have a fabulous one planned as well.

XOXO

Capeness

Cape: Boden (other colors); T-Neck: French Connection (similar); Jeans: Loft;
Booties: Sam Edelman (similar); Handbag: MbyMJ (fun option); Shades: Prada;
Jewels: Stella & Dot; Lip Color: NARS Heat Wave

 Sunday was a mama day, and when I say mama day, I mean I got to spend the afternoon with my mama! I was way overdue for an afternoon that was just for me. And when I found out that I was going to get the chance to do mama stuff, I called my mom and filled her in. We met at Town Center and shopped for shoes, bras, and spring pieces for our wardrobes. We then hit Loft for jean shopping! I walked away with new jeans, without holes, yet are casual and chi enough for days at the zoo, farmstead, and other McKinley friendly outings. It was a lovely afternoon.

Speaking of lovely, the weather was lovely as well. I didn't need a coat, but I knew I wanted something with a little coverage. I also knew it was time to break out the cape that I have dubbed Capeness. It's greatness in a cape. It's the perfect weight, the color is gorg and so cheerful, and it's simply classic in design. Dark jeans, a cream t-neck, and leopard booties completed this mama look!

 There are times when I take a mama afternoon and feel guilty while doing so. This time, I didn't! I really enjoyed my time alone, well with the company of my mom. I could shop, browse, and have a conversation without being interrupted and told how much someone doesn't like going to mama stores. You know, sometimes mama's just need a break!

Can you believe we are in February? I feel like this color combo is a nod to the Valentine's Day celebration that's on the horizon! I can't wait to start sharing some of my heart day finds with you!

Have a great day, Fashionista's!

Dressing for Home

Sweater: Piperlime (cute option); Shirt: J.Crew Factory; Jeans: Loft (similar);
Booties: Sam Edelman; Shades: Prada; Jewelry: Stella & Dot

This is probably one of my favorites sweaters, and yes, I say that about almost all of my sweaters. I've always been a sweater girl, but there is something about this one. I've styled it so many ways with a simple black t-neck, that I wanted something a little different. A plain white tee would be too much of a stark color. It's WAY too cold to think about wearing it sleeveless, and to be honest, I'm not sure I could ever wear it sleeveless. I think the wool would drive me crazy. Then I had a revelation. What about pairing it with my denim shirt? Perfection!

Another great thing about this look is that I wore it while working! That's right, this girl had a trunk show last night, only it wasn't in someone's living room, it was virtual. Okay, someone may have been in their living room or kitchen or in bed for the night, but this girl was parked on her couch working from her den. My awesome job allows me to work from home, when I can, and wear something as casual as this. However, I think it's the perfect look. It's not too casual, but not too dressy for being at home, and it's the best way to work....in my opinion!

The Sweater: Before and After

My rule of thumb when working from home, get up and get dressed as if you were going into an office. I could have gone the lazy route and just played the part, but instead I showered, did my hair, applied makeup, and got dressed for the day. I did a little work before the show and felt more productive because I felt the part. And when it came to the party, I was ready to take on the night!

If you work from home, what do you do to get your mind the game? I would love for you to share your motivational tips!

Warmth

  Top: ZARA; Jeans: Loft (similar); Booties: Sam Edelman (similar); Handbag: Frye;
Shades: Prada; All Jewelry: Stella & Dot; Lip Color: NARS Heat Wave

I would have to say that this is the warmest top/sweater/sweatshirt I own. It's incredibly thick, with a heavy cotton lining, and the faux fur is super thick as well. My only wish is that it had longer sleeves! My wrists were freezing!

This was my running errands look. You know, when you're in and out of the car on a freezing cold Saturday, and you don't really want to have to carry a coat! The first time I wore this top, photos were never taken, I paired it with skinny jeans and tall boots. This time around, I wanted something a little more laid back. Nothing is more laid back than boyfriend jeans. But, I amped up the style with leopard print booties and loads of gold jewels! And, I'm currently having a love affair with my NARS Heat Wave lip color. This is definitely not just a summer burst of color!

Let's talk about this arm party for a minute! I'm obsessed with the new pieces from the Stella & Dot Spring Collection! I mean, the Bridge Bracelet is stunning! And guess what? You can remove the chain and wear the ring and cuff as separate pieces! Amazing, no?! And the Tera Leather Bracelet is everything! Shop here for both!!

Look who got the Frye Fringe Hobo handbag for Christmas!!! This little number was sold out after the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I was just sure I had missed my chance of getting my hands on one! My mom, the rock star, came through! It's so chic!

I am starting off the week with a bang! It's a big one over here! If you have the day off, take full advantage! Do something that makes you happy and full!

XOXO

The Perfect Layers

 Vest: Land's End (similar); Sweatshirt: Etiquette Boutique (similar); Jeans: Loft (similar);
Booties: Sam Edelman; Belt: Banana Republic; Shades: Karen Walker via Gilt;
Necklace: Stella & Dot

Yesterday was a December afternoon that reached the low 50s! That doesn't happen very often and one must definitely take advantage of those warmer days! The boys spent the afternoon cleaning up the leaves in the yard while I got to do one of my favorite things. I got to go to the grocery store. (That comment is dripping with sarcasm. Did you hear it?) But, it was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the walk outside from the car to the door and vice versa when I left. It's the little things, right?

Because it was in the 50s, I opted for this cute sweatshirt paired with my puffer vest. The perfect combination of layers. I love belting the vest to help contain the bulk and went with my fav new booties! I got them for my birthday and have worn the constantly! They are the perfect heel height for days when you're running around and so comfortable! Who needs tennies when you have that same support in a darling bootie!

What did you guys do to yesterday to take advantage of the beautiful day? I hope whatever it was, it was fun!

Have a chic Monday, Fashionista's!

A Rainy Day Look

Last Tuesday I met my friend Megan for a little girl time! A morning of sitting on a cozy couch at t.Loft on the Plaza, while the rain poured down outside, kind of cured the soul for a couple of hours! Before hand, we decided to attempt a little photo shoot and hopped in and out of the rain drops while doing so. I love these! The stark white backdrop and rainy sidewalk against my all black look is simply lovely! And I thought rain was a bad thing!

Later that evening I was attending a friends Stella & Dot party and I thought this look would be perfect for a super busy day. And I was right. I went with leggings instead of jeans (notice I'm wearing them as pants) because I knew they would be flexible with all the moving I would be doing that day. I went with a Merino wool t-neck and sweater vest as I knew I would be too warm with a bulky sweater or coat. Honestly, this look was absolutely perfect for my day to night activities!

What is your go-to look on busy rainy day? I don't wear my leggings very often, but I'm thinking I definitely need to start styling them more this winter. And, they were a lot warmer than jeans on that chilly morning.

It's a super short week this week! I know everyone is ready for family time!

Happy Monday, Fashionista's!

How To Dress for the Playoffs

 World Series Tee: Rally House (last fall); Striped Tee: Ann Taylor (super cute option);
Jeans: Loft (similar); Wedges: Sam Edelman (similar); Handbag: J.Crew (gift/similar);
Shades: MbyMJ (similar); Bracelets: David Yurman (gift)/Gift

I am a die hard KC Royals fan! Have been for 32 years! We have been to games during some of the worst seasons imaginable. And we've been there for the good. Haven't been to a playoff game, but maybe some day. It's definitely on my bucket list. That, and attending a baseball game at every major ballpark. That will happen!

So how does one dress during the playoffs, wearing your Royals gear on a daily basis, but still keeping it chic? Well, this is what I wore yesterday for the first ALDS playoff game. I paired my World Series tee with my beloved striped tee, my fav boyfriend jeans, and cute gray wedges. I added a navy bag to accent the blues. I think this look is pulled together, supportive of my home town team, and cute all at the same time!

Striped Tee: Before and After

Can we just talk about this striped tee for a second? I've had it for years and can't part with it! It's more of a layering tee at this point, it's definitely starting to show it's age, but it is work horse in my wardrobe! Best investment you will ever make! Run out and get one today!!

If you work in a more conservative business place and can't wear your Royals gear, here is a look I created last year that still works today!

If you're rooting on the boys in blue, share your looks with us! I would love to see how you're making your baseball gear work for you!

Have a fab weekend, Fashionista's!! Let's Go Royals!!
