Fall Harvest

Jacket: Alfani via Macy's; Sweater: Ann Taylor;
Pants: Ann Taylor Loft; Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe;
Necklace: Ann Taylor

When I think of fall, I think of rust colored leaves, pumpkin orange, chocolate brown and camel. Well, three of those four made into this look. And, I love a crisp leather jacket almost as much as I love a chunky sweater. Last Thursday was cool here and I was just sure this camel sweater was long sleeved. Wrong! I knew I couldn't make it all day with short sleeves and I wasn't sure of what to wear over it. Well wouldn't you know it, this little number was in "storage" at my mom's house. Perfect and I love how the whole thing is so monochromatic.

This leather jacket is a great replacement for standard black. The tobacco color will give your wardrobe a little life, versus deep chocolate, and it looks great with jeans and over dresses. Just another item to add to your staples list!

What is your favorite thing about fall? Are you into browns or do you love the fact that bright colors are still on trend from summer?

Missoni for Target - Look One

Sweater: Missoni for Target; Tank: Target;
Pants: Ann Taylor; Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (gift)

Here is a first look at one of my several pieces of Missoni for Target. I didn't go too crazy because really, how many zig zag patterns do you need in your closet? What I love about this sweater is that it's a little vintage, very practical and doesn't carry the Missoni print throughout the fabric. It will be great over a sheath dress but will dress up denim. A timeless piece for sure.

The open weave of the sweater makes it a great layering piece.

I finally pulled out the Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes! I wore them only once last year, New Year's Eve to be exact, because I couldn't wear heels after January. Now that it's fall I'm pulling out closed toe shoes! For those of you avid SATC fans, you will appreciate that these shoes aren't an urban shoe myth. A classic shoe for a pretty classic look.

Shopping the Missoni Event

Sweater: Ann Taylor; Tank: Target;
Belt/Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft; Shoes: Nine West;
CZ Necklace: Ann Taylor;
M Initial Pendant: Lord & Taylor; Shades: Prada

I took the day off yesterday to shop the Missoni launch at Target and boy am I glad I did! Had I waited to shop online, the site crashed first thing that morning, I would have missed out on quite a bit! I knew the event would be huge, and because I might need to throw an elbow or two, I needed to dress comfortably. Luckily, everyone played nice and so did the colors in this little ensemble. What I didn't notice until just now is that the colors in this outfit are every bit of the original M Missoni dress I purchased earlier this year. Super cool and totally unintended!

I am loving the fall temps we are experiencing here in the Midwest. Tonight it's supposed to go down into the upper 40s with a high tomorrow of 63. I smell tights!!!

The Zoe Report's Fall Trend Watch - #3 Contrasting Colors

The third item on the Fall Trend list is Contrasting Color. Much like color blocking, this trend in clothing is huge! And again, I have this sitting in my closet. The shoes in the top photo were purchased last spring so apparently, I was ahead of the curve.

This latest shoe is actually closer to the ones featured on the report.

There's a new pair that I'm getting for my b-day and I can't wait to wear them! Super cute and on trend with Contrasting Color.

So far, I'm three for three on the Fall Trend Watch. How are you guys doing? Got any of this in your closet? Do you need to start shopping?

The Zoe Report's Fall Trend Watch - #2 Everything Eyes

The second fall trend on The Zoe Report is Everything Eyes. Eye makeup this fall is "fierce", to quote Christian Siriano. From jewel tone shadows and eyelash thickening mascaras, to patches you can use for eyeliner. Dior offers Velvet Eyes, a set of innovative eyeliner "patches" that are ready to wear in minutes. Designed by Dior makeup artists, these patches are a sticker or transfer tattoo for those who aren't quite handy with liquid liner. Backstage Eyeliners-To-Wear Multi-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches

Dior also offers a brow shaping stencil set. The Backstage Brow Design Brow Shaping Stencils Kit includes a selection of easy-to-use stencils and two brow pencils for reshaping the brows.

Now, as you most of you readers know, I am just as obsessed with makeup as I am with fashion. I dabble in all different lines but my favorites are MAC and Chanel. I did a huge blog post entitled The Eyes Have It. I followed that post up with a tutorial The Eyes Have It: A How To. I showed how I apply a Classic Eye and A Smokey Eye, but I haven't done anything around the fabulous liquid liner and the different Cat Eye options that are out there. Will I buy the Velvet Eyes, probably not, but I will play around with my liquid liners to see what I can come up with on my own.

So, did I achieve Fall Trend for Everything Eyes? I think I did. I'm willing to play around with cosmetics to give myself everything from a neutral lid to one with power. Done and done in my book!

GO International - Tucker Styling

Dress: GO International Tucker for Target; Belt: Anthropologie;
Shoes: Nine West; Bracelet: Target; M Initial Necklace: Lord & Taylor;
Shades: Prada

Back in March I styled three different GO International dresses I had purchased and I finally wore the Tucker dress. With the deep burgandy backdrop to rust, gold and olive, this dress is perfect for fall! I love the drapey fabric and how silky it felt. Again, a very luxe look that was super affordable. See how I originally styled it back in March. I don't think I was too far off the mark!

What I think will be super cute come late fall/early winter are my cognac wedge boots from Steve Madden! I love that these boots can be worn to the knee or folded down for a half-calf look. That's how I plan to wear them most of the time.

The couple of new items that were added to this look were the coral belt and orange leather bracelet. If I could do the first look over again, I think I would have paired this with my nude Ann Taylor Loft booties. It would have been a better hue based on the lighter tone of the belt, but let's be honest, how much longer can I wear these awesome Gladiator sandals? Next time...

The Zoe Report's Fall Trend Watch - #1 Python Prints

The Zoe Report started a week-long focus on fall's biggest trends today and I am going to try and keep track of each daily trend. Does Style My Way currently have these items in her closet? Let's see...

Fall Trend #1: Python Prints

Yes, please! I purchased these adorable pink Pour La Victoire python pumps in late July and I've worn them since their arrival. Why a photo wasn't captured, I'm not sure, but I will definitely incorporate them into an outfit sometime this week! That's one!
