Tres Chic: Valentine's Day Looks

For this month's Tres Chic, we decided to style some Valentine's Day looks. Only seems appropriate, right? Caitlin and Jana went with super cute dressy looks, while I kept it a little more casual. Get a closer glimpse at the looks below and get all the details on what we're wearing!

Sophisticated is exactly what Caitlin went for when dressing for the big day of love! A little red dress definitely fits the bill!

 Francesca's dress , Vintage shoes similar here and hereJoie clutch c/o Shopbop,

 I am spending Valentine's Day with my boys in the afternoon and with the rest of the family that evening. My mom's bday is the day before, but we're saving her celebration for Saturday night. A low key day calls for a hot pink blazer, my fav stripes, and comfy jeans.

 Blazer: Zara (similar); Top: Boden; Jeans: Joe's Jeans (similar);
Wedges: Sole Society (c/o but similar here);
Handbag: Kooba (similar); Shades: MbyMJ; Earrings: Janna Conner (on loan);
Necklaces: The Zoe Collective/Stella & Dot/BaubleBar (similar);
Bracelets: Kate Spade (on sale)/Stella & Dot (similar)

The contrasting black print in this red dress that Jana is wearing is so cool! I love the design! This is definitely a dress that can be worn beyond Valentine's Day and something I consider perfect for the work place!

What are you planning to wear this Saturday? Are you hitting the town with your sweetie or just keeping things simple and staying in? Whatever you do, have a lovely day, and as always, keep it chic! Until next month....

January Tres Chic - A New Addition

Hey hey!! It's January, a Wednesday, and Tres Chic day! With a new year comes resolutions and goals, and by now they're either still going strong or have been put to bed. I don't typically make resolutions, I'm one to put them to bed, but this year is a little different. I posted a couple of weeks ago that my mom got me a Fitbit for Christmas and I'm not using it to lose weight. I'm using it to get moving!

This is also the time of year where I find I get a little lazy. It's cold, you can't really get out and walk/run, and I don't like going to the gym because of the new year resolutioners taking up the treadmills. But with my cool gadget, I'm on the go! And because I'm on the go, I needed an awesome motivator to keep me going. What is that you ask? A great new pair of sneakers! I wanted something that didn't totally look like a sneaker, but instead had a little pazazz! And talk about pazazz! Nothing like a raspberry tennie to get you up and moving!

And I've teamed up with my fellow Tres Chic girls to give you a little more inspiration in the kicks department. Check out all the looks, links, and deets below!

I am in love with Caitlin's high tops!! A little old school and totally chic!

And here is our new addition! Let's welcome Jana of Jana Style Blog to our Tres Chic family! I met Jana a little over a year ago at a Rebecca Minkoff event at Hall's and we literally had started following each other on Twitter that afternoon! Been friends ever since! I love how Jana has kept the gray theme throughout the look, totally inspired by her gray Converse, and the coat is fab!!

Tres Chic December - The LBD

Dress: Ann Taylor; Shoes: Valentino (gift/similar); Earrings: Made by Me (similar); Ring: Gift;
Lip Color: MAC Ruby Woo; Nail Color: Sephora OPI Personal Shopper
Nicole by OPI: Rainbow in the S-Kylie

When we thought about December and what we wanted to style, we all agreed with the LBD or Little Black Dress. We all have something to attend this month. Holiday parties, New Year's Eve events, work events, and cocktail parties and the LBD is the easiest piece to style in your closet. Throw on colorful shoes, gobs of jewels, fun tights, a little jacket, or go with all black. It's a blank canvas!

We also thought it would be to get together for a little Tres Chic photo shoot. My dad graciously accepted the job! Our little shoot took place on the balcony of Aloft and we loved looking out over Park Place! The ice skaters were in full swing while others were shopping or lunching. Such a fun experience. As you can see, we all went in completely different directions with our dresses and I think each one is as chic as the next! Check out Lauren at Classy and Fab Girl and Caitlin at SophistiCAITed to see more!

October Tres Chic - Chunk Knit Sweaters

 I am a sweater girl! No if and or buts about it. And to prove it, I have at least four sweater boxes to hold them all! So when "the experts" announced this fall's latest trend of chunky knit sweaters, I squealed with joy and I'm not a squealer! Just ask my mom.

October's Tres Chic was a no brainer for us! Bring on the chunky knits from three of your favorite Midwest bloggers!

Caitlin, formally Gussied Up, has made a major change to her blog! Like the name and layout, and it's lovely! Same goes with her look from Go Blog Social in Chicago earlier this month! Check out the new site SophistiCAITed!

September Tres Chic - Styling Joggers

I told you yesterday that you would see joggers again this week, but this time I'm bringing it to you as our September Tres Chic! And, with the help of Lauren and Caitlin, you get to see two additional ways to style these rockin' pants!

Lauren over at Classy and Fab Girl went totally casz chic and I love it!!! Definitely a look I will try to replicate!

 Zip-pocket track pants - Gap | top (similar) –

Caitlin of Gussied Up styled hers with the awesome Altuzarra Orchid sweatshirt from his collaboration with Target! So cute in person. Online did not do this top justice! And you aren't seeing things, we have the same backdrop! After blog pics, we grabbed sushi and gabbed for hours! Her styling choice for the joggers was perfect for the evening!

This was probably my favorite Tres Chic styling! I loved how we each styled the pants so differenlty, yet in ways I can't wait to borrow! The only thing I can't borrow is the fabulous hair those girls sport! I have total hair envy!

Can't wait to see what we do next month? Let me know if you have any suggestions or a trend you want to see us style!

Till then....stay chic!

August Tres Chic - Styling Booties

This month's installment of Tres Chic is all about booties! We realize it's only August, but it's never too early to wear booties! They come in all different shapes, sizes, and heel heights. They can be closed or peep toe, and come in leather or suede. With so many options, we need more than just the winter months to style them. What I love about Tres Chic is that you get three different perspectives which allows for optimum styling ideas!

Caitlin of Gussied Up looks darling in a romper, vest, and gray booties!! This is the perfect example of how to transition your summer wardrobe to fall! And her accessories are maj! I tell her all the time that she has the best necklace collection!
